The Value of a VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
A VMware Certified Professional (VCP) has received authorized training and hands-on experience to successfully install, deploy, scale, and manage VMware vSphere environments, as well as the skills obtained by a minimum of six months experience with VMware infrastructure technologies.
Through the VMware Partner Network, New Horizons of Nashua students receive training on equipment that conforms to VMware standards and from VMware Certified Instructors (VCIs).

Do I need to attend a class to qualify for VCP4 or 5? Can't I just self-study?
The VCP certifications have authorized course requirements, which must be met in order to obtain the certifications. Several course options are available to you. To determine which course may be right for you, reference the graphic below.
How do I achieve the VCP5 certification if I have taken a VCP4 qualifying class?
A VCP4 qualifying class, such as VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage, only qualifies you pass the VCP4 exam. Then you can sit for the VCP5 exam.
Is there a course requirement for VCP4s to upgrade to VCP5?
The recommended course to upgrade your certification is "VMware vSphere: What's New [V5]." However, until February 29, 2012, there is no course requirement to upgrade from VCP4 to VCP5.
What topics are tested on the VCP5 Exam?

What versions of VMware vSphere and VMware View should I study for the desktop certification exams?
The certifications will be based on VMware vSphere 4.x and VMware View 4.x.
